Retro Fabrics Makes this Sling Swing!
Being a retrophile and liking to wear vintage clothing head to toe can pose some problems for those with babies in tow. The look just isn’t quite complete with a baby jogger stroller made circa 2006.
Last night I was at the grocery store and there was a guy in front of me. I just him from the back, but it looked like he had either some really wide guitar sling (but no guitar) or he had some pretty funky back support. When he turned around I realized it was a baby sling. It wasn’t one of those “reverse backpacks” Newborn Slings that you usually see. I always wondered about that “frontpack” style, because if there was danger from back pain from the backpacks…would you get front pain from those “frontpacks”?
Anyway, I was really surprised. I inquired and looked up the HugaMonkey website. There were slings that were plain black, stone colored, or there were a couple in black and brown in slightly retro fabrics, like the one at left. It is kind of an atomic, Eames-y looking print that wouldn’t be so out of place on a guy, or a gal who prefers to dress out of the 1950s or 60s. Add it to your list of things to buy for cool, swinging, and fashionable expectant moms and dads.
